Dr Abbey Atkinson PhD

Abbey specialises in gender in the workplace, organisational culture, and the structural barriers and enablers to progression. She has an established track record of supporting organisations to understand and improve culture in ways that directly impact representation, progression and retention.
Abbey combines rigorous, academically grounded qualitative methods with a strong focus on practical application. Her work is designed to surface the often-invisible dynamics shaping workplace experience and translate these insights into targeted, evidence-based recommendations that organisations can act on with confidence.
She has deep knowledge of the insurance industry, having previously worked within the sector and used it as the primary field site for her doctoral research, Gender inequality in the UK insurance industry, the largest data collection and analysis exercise of its kind.
